Program Chair: Jean Mihich

Playwright and essayist Margaret Delaney will describe her journey from playwright to creator of a groundbreaking spoken word website where listeners are offered one professionally recorded essay per month of a spiritual or ethical nature. She will read selections from the site (ListenWell.org) and chronicle the challenges and joys of being a writer.

Integrative Rheumatology, presented by Aly Cohen, MD, FACR

Program Chair: Ute Arnold

In addition to being a board certified internist, rheumatologist, and integrative medicine physician, Dr. Cohen is a writer, interviewer and producer of health programs on several network and cable television channels. Her presentation will include the use of diet, exercise, appropriate supplements and other integrative approaches to women's health, focusing on chronic arthritis and immune system disorders.

While the yearbook provides our names and contact information, many of us don't know one another very well. What is your earliest recollection? Favorite all-time band: Beatles or Rolling Stones? If you had a tag line, what would it be? Come share the answers to these "personal" questions as we play "getting to know you."

A former president of the Raritan Valley Beekeepers Association and lifelong area resident, apiarist Donald Pidcock will introduce us to the challenging and rewarding pastime of beekeeping. From cultivating colonies of honeybees to harvesting their honey, we will learn the ins and outs of this ancient and increasingly popular hobby.

Program Chair: Sue Fox

The 16th first lady of the United States was is one of the most controversial women in American history. Mary Todd Lincoln was passionate, intelligent and educated but mercurial and prone to poor judgment. Actor and historian Pat Jordan will bring Mary Todd Lincoln to life. Ms. Jordan has appeared at The White House Visitors Center, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, National Archives and the Franklin Institute.

Program Chair: Polly Anderson

Ms. Claus is a member of The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Somerset & Hunterdon Counties and a volunteer trained to assist Rutgers NJAES Cooperative Extension in its mission to provide local horticulitural information. She will introduce us to John Bartram, friend to Benjamin Franklin, associate of Linnaeus and America's first botanist. Bartram was said to be "quite a character" and made enormous contributions to American botany.
